Actual Updates from the 2017 Annual Meeting of Jehovah's Witnesses

The 2017 Annual Meeting of Jehovah's Witnesses was a great success. As stated on our previous article about it, it was "held on Saturday, October 7, 2017. On the same day, a dedication program for the new world headquarters in Warwick and for the Wallkill expansion" was also held. It was attended by thousands of brothers and sisters including those in the live streaming and delayed broadcast.

Now many of us are wondering about those new things that has been discussed. Remember our list of speculations? Some of them doesn't get even close. :P

But here are some of the new and exciting things announced from the program:
  • 2018 Yeartext: “Those hoping in Jehovah will regain power.” —Isaiah 40:31
  • Starting in January 2018, there will be only three (3) public edition of The Watchtower and three (3) Awake! magazine per year. Each edition will focus on one main subject.
    • The Watchtower No. 1 will be distributed on the months of January and February. Awake No. 1 will be distributed on the months of March and April. The Watchtower No. 2 will be distributed on the months of May and June. Awake No. 2 will be distributed on the months of July and August. And so on...
  • No more specific monthly literature offers.
  • There will be a new study book - "How to Remain in God's Love". This is a replacement for the “Keep Yourselves in God’s Love” book.
  • Yearbook printing will be discontinued. All reports will be dispensed using the JW.org and JW Broadcasting website.
  • Emphasis should be on bringing in those righteously disposed and not on just placing literature.
  • Clearer understanding of the "Spiritual Temple" and "Spiritual Paradise."
  • Study Edition of Watchtower and Watchtower Simplified Edition will be redesigned.
    • Starting January 1, 2019, both editions will be combined as one. The online version of the simplified edition will be available online only.
  • A new Toolbox (section) feature we can use in the ministry will be added to the JW Library App.
More updates coming soon, stay tuned!
